Research and Experimental Development (R&D) Statistics for UNESCO
The MRIC is the National Focal Point responsible for providing National Research and Development data for Mauritius to UNESCO. The data will be published and featured in databases such as the UN Global SDG Indicators database, World Bank’s World Development Indicators (WDI) database and international publications such as the UNESCO Science Report, the SDG Report, the Global Innovation Index (GII) Report, the UN Statistical Yearbook and the World Bank’s World Development Report. The data impacts on the ranking of Mauritius for different global indices, thus, the importance of stakeholders to provide the requested information. The questionnaire to be filled for this year's survey should be sent to the Council by the end of 15th February 2020.
National Innovation Survey
The Council is also conducting a survey to collect innovation statistics for different enterprises on the different types of innovation and on various aspects of the development of an innovation. The survey is based on the Community Innovation Survey (CIS) which is part of the EU science and technology statistics.The questionnaire to be filled for this year's survey should be sent to the Council by the end of 15th February 2020.
Both surveys will allow the Council to detect Research and Innovation gaps and propose remedial strategies.
