National SME Incubator Scheme (NSIS)

1. BACKGROUND ​The National SME Incubator Scheme (NSIS)  is one of the key schemes of the MRIC aiming at promoting initiation and development of innovative start-ups facilitated by a network of Private Sector-led accredited business incubators. The NSIS ensures a structured training/mentoring approach to start ups, provided by the NSIS Accredited Incubators in three phases: i) Ideation: From idea to first plan. ii) Incubation: From first plan to prototype. iii) Acceleration: From prototype to first sales. Training Workshop on - Building of a Simplified Antenna for Satellite Communication and Ground Station Operation

The MRIC in collaboration with the Ministry of Information Technology, Communication and Innovation and the Ministry of Education, Tertiary Education, Science and Technology is organising the first of a series of training workshops (from the 30th Nov – 4th Dec 2020) entitled: Building of a Simplified Antenna for Satellite Communication and Ground Station Operation. Third Edition of the MRIC Post-Graduate Conference (2020)

South Africa - Mauritius Joint Technology Innovation Program 
The Mauritius Research and Innovation Council (MRIC) and the Technology Innovation Agency (TIA) of South Africa hereby invite interested participants to submit applied research and innovation project proposals with a focus on real-world solutions for:

      Green and Blue Economies;

      Smart Agriculture and Life Sciences;

      Manufacturing;

      Social Impact Innovation; and

      Emerging Sectors.

 

Project Duration and Funding:

Successful Consortium (start-ups/MSME/large enterprises and research institutions from both countries) may be awarded a grant of up to MUR 2M from MRIC and ZAR 1M from TIA for a project duration not exceeding 24 months.
