The National Research Week 2025 was coordinated by the Mauritius Research and Innovation Council (MRIC), under the aegis of the Ministry of Tertiary Education, Science and Research. This year’s overarching theme, “Uniting Research, Industry and Innovation,” highlighted the importance of fostering stronger linkages across key sectors.
From Day 1 to Day 4, half-day and full-day thematic sessions were held across various higher education institutions, each focusing on a specific area of interest. Day 5 culminated the week with a dedicated session on “Research and Innovation in Action: Bridging Academia and Industry”, which explored practical strategies to close the gap between academic research and industry needs.

Day 5: Research and Innovation in Action: Bridging Academia and Industry
Day 5 of the National Research Week 2025 was held on Friday 18 April 2025 from 08:30 to 16:00 hours in the Paul Octave Wiehe Auditorium, University of Mauritius, with the theme of the day being "Research and Innovation in Action: Bridging Academia and Industry."
The event was jointly organised by the Mauritius Research and Innovation Council (MRIC), Mauritius Institute of Biotechnology Ltd (MIBL), Centre for Biomedical and Biomaterials Research (CBBR), Higher Education Commission (HEC), Polytechnics Mauritius Ltd (PML) and Business Mauritius (BM).
Post-National Research Week 2025
The Proceedings of the National Research Week 2025 were launched on Monday 8th September 2025 by Dr. the Honourable Kaviraj Sharma Sukon, Minister of Tertiary Education, Science and Research.

The next edition of the National Research Week will be organised in 2026 and the MRIC will once again coordinate the event.
