Enterprise Innovation Booster Scheme

The aim of the Enterprise Innovation Booster Scheme (EIBS) is to help Mauritian companies grow, transform and be better equipped through innovation for the future and for the global market. This scheme is deemed to be a progression: from developing internal core capabilities to innovating for productivity growth and finally, expansion.

The Enterprise Innovation Booster Scheme has been launched by the Mauritius Research and Innovation Council with the view of boosting the innovative drive of local businesses.

 

The aim of the Enterprise Innovation Booster Scheme (EIBS) is to help Mauritian companies grow, transform and be better equipped through innovation for the future and for the global market. This scheme is deemed to be a progression: from developing internal core capabilities to innovating for productivity growth and finally, expansion.

 

By supporting innovative projects, this scheme seeks to:

 

  • help businesses prepare for growth, innovation and transformation by strengthening their business foundations;

  • encourage intrapreneurship

  • support companies that explore new areas of growth, or look for ways to enhance efficiency;

  • encourage companies to innovate and transform business to create novel business models or innovative products and processes; and

  • support Mauritian companies that are willing and ready to venture into new markets or overseas

 

Project proposals will be accepted from companies where opportunities exist to develop innovative technology-based ideas for either novel or enhanced business models, processes or services that will have a positive impact on the company’s operations, productivity and innovativeness.

 

Support through the EIBS will not cover capital expenditure and routine steps such as establishment, ordinary operations and operational overheads or communication.

The MRIC would support 75 percent of the project cost for an amount not exceeding Rs 2 Million per project and for a maximum project duration of nine (9) months.
